Robert “Bob” Edward Brice
May 17, 1937 – June 17, 2026
Robert “Bob” Edward Brice, 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of the family he cherished so deeply.
Twenty years ago, Bob moved from Dallas to San Diego to be with Jeannie, the woman who would become his wife and partner for the rest of his life.
Above all, Bob was a family man. His love was steady, his kindness was constant, and nothing mattered more to him than the people he held close. He poured himself into being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he made sure everyone around him felt that love every single day. He completed his daily Wordle without fail, keeping everyone on their toes with his wit and humor, and he never met a Stars, Cowboys, or Mavericks game he didn’t want to watch with a cold Pepsi, a salty bag of chips, and — always — a glass of orange juice close by. Tropicana surely owes him a debt of gratitude.
Ten years ago, Bob created a scrapbook for his children; a priceless gift to share with generations to come. In it, he wrote a beautiful message that encapsulates his spirit: "While these have been great memories from my 'early years,' my most treasured and precious memories, by far, have been with the ones I shared with our family and my memories of being a Dad are priceless."
Bob is survived by his wife of 17 years, Jeannie; his five children, Shannan Brice, Kevin Brice (Laurie Cavallaro), Andrew Brice, Maureen Brice Bordelon, and Carrie Brice Sethi (Akash Sethi); his sister, Patricia Traynor; his nieces, Lauren and Dawn; and his 16 grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. When Bob moved to San Diego, his family grew to include Jeannie's daughters, Megan (Matt) and Courtney (Kevin), and their children, who brought him a beautiful West Coast family.
Bob’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and family above all else. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the warmth he brought into every life he touched. He was a genuine original.

Bob was born on May 17, 1937, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the oldest of 4 children. A gifted student and athlete, he earned a full scholarship to attend Kalamazoo College. He played both basketball and tennis ranking in multiple regional and state levels. This chapter in his life laid the foundation for a lifetime of curiosity and hard work. He went on to earn his master’s degree from Western Michigan University. In the mid-1960s, Bob was working as the youngest plant manager for Chrysler, and they moved his family to Dallas, Texas, beginning a new chapter that would become home for many years. Over the course of his career, Bob also worked for the FDIC, teaching at Brookhaven College and in real estate, always drawn to learning new things and helping the people around him.
For over 30 years, Bob was a devoted member of Christ the King Church in Dallas, where he and his family worshipped while raising his children in the parish. He gave generously of his time volunteering as a basketball coach for his children and for St. Vincent de Paul, living out his faith through service to others.
